Taj McWilliams exploded for 25 points and eight rebounds as Frisco Sika Brno brushed aside Szeviep Szeged 71-54 in their EuroLeague Women Group D clash.
McWilliams made 11 of 15 (73.3%) from the field and added three more points from the free-throw line as the hosts could find no answer for the 1.89m center from Texas.
Brno made clear their intentions for this game from the start, opening on a 12-0 run capped by an old-fashioned three-point play from McWilliams, who converted her free throw after being fouled by Zsuzsanna Horvath while making her first basket of the game.
They never even gave the hosts a sniff of a way back into the game thereafter, keeping the lead in double figures all the way.
Dewanna Bonner added 17 points and nine rebounds, while Eva Viteckova collected 14 points and seven assists.
Bernadett Nemeth and Iva Ciglar were the only Szeviep players to reach double figures with 13 points each, Ciglar also adding 10 rebounds.
The win keeps Brno out in front in Group D at 4-1, although Spartak Moscow Region, who face Lotos Gdynia on Thursday, are unbeaten at 3-0.
The defending champions have played one less game due to the cancellation of their contest with Szeviep Szeged earlier in the season following the death of their owner Shabtai von Kalmanovic.
Szeviep drop to 0-4.
Havlik Vlastimil, Brno Assistant Coach:
"We aren't statisfied because we had a lot of turnovers and gave easy rebounds to Szeviép-Szeged. At the second period we played better, and that was important to us."
Tamás Bencze, Szeviep Head Coach:
"We can play better for sure. We must analyze why we couldn't play at all in the first quarter. If we could turn our chanches to points I would be statisfied."
