French giants Bourges stormed to a second straight EuroLeague Women Group C victory on Wednesday night at the expense of MKB Euroleasing.
The visitors from Sopron, Hungary, who had opened the campaign with two consecutive victories, missed their injured Serbia international Jelena Milovanovic as Bourges won 82-56.
Milovanovic is expected to be out of action for at least a month with a hand injury.
Pierre Vincent's Bourges raced into a 42-25 half-time lead with Essence Carson and Ilona Burgrová leading a balanced attack by scoring 10 points apiece.
The hosts made it look easy by stretching the advantage to 60-36 by the end of the third quarter.
They had a huge lead for the entire fourth quarter.
Bourges out-rebounded MKB 32-22, and they also made 21 of 26 free-throws compared to 12 of 12 for the visitors.
Inside the arc, Bourges were 23 of 44 while MKB made just 16 of 42.
Even from long range, the French team excelled with a five of nine showing with the Sopron outfit four of 10.
Maja Miljkovic and Amber Holt scored 13 points apiece in defeat for MKB.
Sopron Coach Norbert Székely:
"I am very dissapointed because the first half time was bad. Too many turnover and mistakes on offence, Bourges has a good defense, it's very difficult to score."
Bourge Coach Pierre Vincent :
"I didn't have the occasion to see the team of Sopron before the game. I know it was a big team and the game would be hard. We won, and it's a good thing to stay in the competition."
