Kosice Pull Away Late To Beat Gorzow

Good Angels Kosice grinded out a 95-88 victory at KSSSE AZS-PWSZ Gorzow on the final night of Qualifying Round action in the EuroLeague Women.

The Slovakian outfit prevailed for the sixth time in 10 games and ended up second in Group C.

After a high-scoring first half, Gorzow had a 53-51 advantage.

With a minute remaining in the third, the Polish outfit were on top 77-67 with their Liudmila Sapova having scored 19 points.

Kosice stormed back, outscoring the home side 12-2 over the next 4:30.

Candice Dupree's jumper took her points tally to 18 and gave the Slovakians a 79-78 advantage.

After Dupree split two free-throws the next time down the floor, Sidney Spencer replied with a jump shot to knot the contest at 80-80 with 5:36 to play.

Miljana Musovic answered immediately with a jumper for Kosice.

With Gorzow struggling to put points on the board, Kosice pulled away over the last few minutes for a seven-point triumph.

Angel McCoughtry had 21 points and 10 rebounds but the performance of the night belonged to Dupree, who walked off the court with 22 points and 19 boards.

Musovic finished with 18 points.

Gorzow, who ended their campaign with three victories and seven defeats, got a team-high 22 from Sapova.

Spencer contributed 16 points and nine boards.
