Halcon Avenida trailed early on but finished strong at Gospic Croatia on Wednesday night to claim their first EuroLeague Women triumph of the young season.
Upset at home last week by Wisla Can-Pack Krakow in Group B, the Salamanca club responded with a 75-52 victory on the road.
Summer signing Sancho Lyttle led Avenida with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five steals while Russian center Olga Podkovalnikova finished with 15 points.
The game was not a thing of beauty.
The Salamanca team had 20 turnovers while forcing Gospic to commit 30.
In the first quarter, Gospic gave their home fans something to cheer about when they reeled off eight consecutive points for a 13-6 lead.
Avenida clawed their way back but the hosts kept their noses in front and went to half-time still in front, 32-30.
The Spanish team ended up taking the lead for good nearly two minutes into the third quarter when Ukraine forward Olexandra Gorbunova connected from behind the arc to make it 37-34.
Jordi Fernández Sánchez's team didn't pull away, though, until midway through the quarter.
Leading 42-41, Avenida scored 11 consecutive points with the last four coming from Spain international Isa Sanchez.
She ended up with 14 in the game.
Gospic, who lost to ESB Lille Metropole in their first game, got no closer than eight points in the fourth period as Fernández's side rolled to victory.
