Wisla Can-Pack Krakow fans are in the middle of a dream they won't want to wake up from anytime soon.
The Polish club won its sixth consecutive game to start to the EuroLeague Women campaign with a 62-58 victory over Halcon Avenida on Wednesday night.
Led yet again by Janell Burse, who had 16 points and 12 rebounds, Wisla continued to make the most of the opportunity to play in Europe's elite club competition.
They were only given entry to the EuroLeague following the financial meltdown of CSKA Moscow shortly before the start of the campaign.
Avenida, winners of four straight since their opening night setback to Wisla, had a chance to claim a famous triumph themselves.
Silvia Dominguez snapped a 54-54 tie with a jump shot just 2:47 from the end for the Salamanca team.
After Marta Fernandez split a pair of free-throws for Wisla, Dominguez was off target with a three-ball.
Iziane went to the other end and made a go-ahead jumper for the home side.
After Alba Torrens misfired from long range for Avenida, Liron Cohen hit a shot from the arc for the Krakow club before Burse added the team's final basket of the contest.
Torrens' jumper with eight seconds to go ended the scoring.
The home side won despite turning the ball over 21 times.
Fernandez had a game-high 19 points for Krakow with Cohen also pouring in 16.
Avenida had a nightmare night shooting from long range, making three of 21 (14.3%).
Wisla were five of 16 (31.3%) from behind the arc.
JORDI FERNANDEZ, Halcon Avenida Coach:
"It was a very tough game with changing result and being up five points at half time we were not sure to win. In the last quarter Wisla played much better and so they won the game. Once again Marta Fernandez was great. My Team was not able to stop her and her teammates in the last four minutes."
JOSE HERNANDEZ, Wisla Can Pack Coach:
"I am very happy, this is a great result. But we know we must improve many elements in defence and still work to be better. The crowd was important for us today."
OLGA PODKOVALNIKOVA, Salamanca:
"Congratulations for Wisla. It was the game of two very good teams. We knew that to win here would be very difficult - but we did our best to win. Liron Cohen, Janell Burse and Marta Fernandez - having such players you must fight to win."
MARTA FERNANDEZ, Wisla Can Pack:
"I am so happy. We had some problems but in the second half we showed that we are a team. Thanks to our supporters thanks to everybody that came tooday to our gym."
