Taranto Rock Ros Casares
In Italy

Cras Basket Taranto showed they can play with the best by upsetting Ros Casares in EuroLeague Women Group A on Wednesday night.

Unbeaten in Italy and coming off their first win in the EuroLeague last week at TTT Riga, Cras shocked the Spanish giants 78-69 with 2,000 spectators looking on.

Rebbekah Brunson had 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Italian team, which led 35-33 at the break and  scored the first 10 points of the third quarter to take a firm grip on the game.

After a three-point play by Delisha Milton-Jones for Ros Casares, Cras reeled off 15 more points in a row for a 60-36 lead with 5:25 to remaining in the frame.

Trailing 65-47 heading to the last period, Ros battled back and managed to reduce the arrears to 74-69 on a pair of Anna Montanana free-throws.

Cras scored the last four points at the charity stripe for a win that few would have expected, especially when considering that Ros had won their opening three games by an average of almost 40 points.

Elodie Godin finished with 12 points and eight rebounds for the Italian team with Jami Montagnino contributing 11 points, three assists and three boards.

Ros Casaras got 18 points from Delisha Milton-Jones.
