Proteas EKA AEL stayed perfect in EuroChallenge Top 16 Group K with a straightforward 88-78 victory over Cajasol Sevilla on Tuesday night.
Milan Dozet made six of 10 from three-point range en route to 22 points to lead five Proteas players scoring in double figures.
The final result failed to tell the story of a game the hosts dominated from the opening few minutes of the first quarter before allowing a late Cajasol rally to trim their margin of victory.
Proteas wasted little time taking control of this one, blowing it open just over three minutes into the first quarter.
With the scores tied at 10, Dozet went to the line early in the first quarter to sink a pair of free-throws, sparking a 16-0 run that essentially ended the game as a contest.
Proteas quickly opened out a 20-point lead, and they took a 52-34 edge into the locker room at half-time.
The gap grew to as many as 25, 74-49, when Vujadin Subotic made a jump-shot late in the third quarter.
Cajasol scored the final 10 points of the game to give the scoreline a more respectable appearance, but there was no doubting which was the better team here.
Goran Nikolic added 15 points for Proteas, while Darrel Mitchell had 14, Haris Mujezinovic 12 and Subotic 11.
Niklas Caner Medley led Cajasol with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Branko Milisavljevic had 14 points and Tyrone Eliis and Michel Diogoye Diouf 11 each.
