Proteas Deliver First-Half Knockout Against Swans


Proteas EKA AEL poured in the game's first 13 points and led the entire way in an 86-62 demolition of Allianz Swans in Limassol.

Vujadin Subotic and Aleksandar Radojevic scored 17 apiece for Proteas, who also got 16 from LaVell Blanchard in the EuroChallenge Group D triumph.

Swans tried to keep the game close and trailed 28-18 midway through the second quarter but Subotic hit consecutive three-pointers and Radojevic followed with a jump shot as the Cyprus giants opened up a 36-18 advantage.

By half-time, the lead had ballooned to 48-22 and there was no way back for Swans.

At the break, Radojevic had eight points, Blanchard 10 and Subotic 11.

Subotic finished four of five from behind the arc.

Blanchard also had a game-high eight rebounds for Proteas (2-1).

Swans (0-3) got 16 points from Anthony Fisher, 10 from Deteri Mayes and nine from Peter Hütter.
