BC Siauliai scored an eye-popping 36 points in the first quarter to go in front by 17 and they never looked back in an 89-76 triumph over Allianz Swans BC. Saulius Kuzminskas had an all-round dominating effort for Siauliai with 17 points and 13 rebounds but the player everyone was talking about after the contest was Gintaras Kadziulis. By game's end, the Siauliai guard had a game-high 26 points, and that included a six-of-eight showing from behind the arc. "Our opponent Kadziulis was just unreal with his shots," Swans star Tomas Stelzer said. Siauliai, as a lot of Lithuanian teams do, hit a lot of three-pointers. They made 12 of 23 (52.2%) in the game. Allianz Swans managed to reduce the deficit to 78-71 with four minutes left but Virginijus Praskevicius answered with a three-pointer as the home side stayed comfortably ahead. Stelzer said it all with his post-game remarks. "We lost control in the first half of the game," he said. |
