The French outfit stayed undefeated in Group C while keeping their Swiss opponents winless at 0-4.
Benetton struggled from start to finish and turned the ball over 26 times in the game.
France international Nando De Colo had 23 points for Cholet, including seven in the opening quarter when they took command.
Cholet made 30 of 53 shots inside the arc compared to 17 of 35 for Benetton.
Oliver Vogt, Benetton Olympic Fribourg player:
"Cholet Basket deserved to win because they were more aggressive and more serious than us. We miss three important players, so it is difficult for us to play our best basketball."
Rodrigue Beaubois, Cholet player:
"It is a good result for us tonight. It is always better for a team to win their last game before the Christmas holidays. We know that we will be in top-16 of EuroChallenge and it is good news for us. Now I am more confident than in the beginning of the season. I have learnt from the mistakes I have made. I hope that the team will play this way when we will start to play again after the [holiday] break. I will work during the holiday to come back in good shape."
Erman Kunter, Cholet Basket coach:
"During the last month, we had six wins from seven games and that is a good thing for the club. The arrival of Kevin Braswell gave confidence to the team. Tonight Fribourg were not good, but we played very well and even if we made mistakes it is something normal. My players need the holiday to rest because we are going to have a hard schedule in January (seven more games). With this victory and the victory of Rostov against Sumy, we know now that we have qualified for top-16. Now our goal is to finish at the top of our group in EuroChallenge."
