Keravnos fought like lions but fell away over the last four minutes and lost heavily in the EuroChallenge to Ural Great 85-64. Jumaine Jones drilled four of six shots from long range and finished with 21 points for the winners in Perm, Russia, as they improved to 2-1. Cyprus outfit Keravnos, who slipped to 0-3, were led by LaMarr Greer's game-high 27 points. When Jarrett Hart made a layup four minutes into the second half for Keravnos, the visitors only trailed 46-45. However, Jones replied with a three-pointer to spark an 11-1 run that was capped by a Ralph Biggs dunk for Ural Great. Keravnos continued to battle with a Greer three trimming the deficit to 57-49, only for Jones to take his points haul to eight with a jump shot at the end of the quarter for a lead of 10. Jones then poured in the first five points of the fourth quarter to extend the advantage to 64-49. An Aleksandar Damjanovic jumper would end up cutting the deficit to 72-61 with 4:07 to go, but that was as close as Keravnos would get. Alexey Surovtsev dunked before Biggs and Jones buried three-balls to open up a 19-point lead. When it was over, Ural Great had made 11 of 23 shots from behind the arc compared to five of 15 for Keravnos. Biggs finished with 16 points and Surovtsev had 14 with a team-high seven rebounds. |
