Ewe Baskets Oldenburg made sure their first-ever game in Europe was memorable by romping to an 86-60 win at U-Mobitelco on Tuesday in the EuroChallenge Qualifying Round 1.

Barring a catastrophic return leg for the German outfit, they will advance to the next stage of the competition.

The visitors opened up a 21-16 advantage by the end of the opening quarter and went to the changing rooms at half-time on top at 40-30.

They extended the lead even more in the third quarter before delivering the knockout punch over the final 10 minutes when they outscored their hosts 25-15.

Jekel Foster poured in 18 points and Jason Gardner 15 for Ewe Baskets.

Veteran guard Branko Cuic had 17 points for the Romanian team, who were just five of 15 from long range and 16 of 38 from two-point range.
