Proteas Blow Out Donetsk

Milan Dozet sparked Proteas EKA AEL with 22 points as they beat BC Donetsk 79-55 on Wednesday night to win their EuroChallenge Qualifying Round 1 tie.

The victory gave the Limassol club, which hosted last year's EuroCup Final Four, a 144-120 triumph on aggregate.

Proteas took a 23-15 lead by the end of the first quarter and extended that to 42-32 by half-time.

They scored the first nine points of the third quarter to go in front by 19 and there was no way back for the visitors from Ukraine.

The home side finished 10 of 20 from long range while Donetsk were six of 19.

Donetsk turned the ball over 18 times while Haywood Christopher Owens scored 13 and grabbed eight boards.

Three other Limassol players finished in double figures in points, including Quincy Taylor with 13.
