Terrific Taurasi Leads Spartak Into Quarter-Finals

Diana Taurasi erupted for 26 points on Friday to lead two-time defending champions Spartak Moscow Region to victory at USK Prague and into the Quarter-Finals of the EuroLeague Women.

Spartak completed a two-game sweep with a 92-78 win in the Czech Republic.

Taurasi ended up a rebound and two assists shy of a triple double although she also had a game-high seven turnovers.

Katerina Elhotova's three-pointer gave Lubor Blazek's side a 21-18 lead but Spartak answered with a 14-0 run that was capped by a pair of Taurasi free throws.

The USA Olympic gold-medal winner made six at the charity stripe in that spurt that put Spartak in command for good.

Fowles finished with 17 points, Miller 16 and Jackson 13.

Sue Bird scored 10, dished out four assists and pulled down four rebounds. Both she and Miller came up with three steals.
