Fenerbahce Beat Frohlich-less Kosice

If Fenerbahce were struggling to find their rhythm early in the season following the departure of star point guard Cappie Pondexter to UMMC Ekaterinburg, they're certainly in sync now after a big win over Broker Kosice.

Esmeral Tuncluer had 18 points and three others reached double figures in points as Fenerbahce prevailed 84-74.

The Turkish giants, after starting the season with one win in their first three games, have now reeled off four straight triumphs.

Tammy Sutton-Brown scored the game's first six points for Fenerbahce, who led from start to finish.

They went on a 9-0 for a 15-4 advantage and were in complete command at 25-8 in the final minute of the first quarter.

Kosice trailed by as many as 23 points in the second quarter and had to play from behind the rest of the way.

The visitors managed to reduce the arrears to 62-52, only for Fenerbahce to extend their lead again.

Zafer Kalaycioglu's Fener did come under a little pressure at 78-71 with 2:35 to play but after calling a timeout, the home side held Kosice scoreless until Sidney Spencer's three-pointer at buzzer.

Emilie Gomis and Brown each had 16 points and Matee Ajavon 15 for Fenerbahce.

Cathrine Kraayeveld pace Kosice with 17.

The Slovakians played without arguably their most important player, Linda Frohlich.

The Germany national team star is averaging 13 points and nine rebounds this season.
