Five players scored in double digits as Ros Casares used a second half surge to post an emphatic 85-59 win on the road at LOTOS PKO BP Gdynia in EuroLeague Women.

The result means that the Valencia club occupy second place in of their Group C standings and remain well on course for an Eighth-Final Play-offs spot.

The Polish hosts started the stronger and were up by eight points after the first period but an adjustment in defensive tactics helped the Spanish come back to level the game before even taking a three point half time lead.

The visitors continued where they left off after the break and rode their strong defensive display all the way to what might prove a decisive victory in securing the second place in the group and home court advantage for the play-offs.

Lotos took more boards (37 to Ros' 35) but committed 23 turnovers and made only three of six from the charity stripe.

Delisha Milton led the visitors with 19 points and seven rebounds. Amaya Valdemoro had five rebounds to go with her 17 point. Anna Montanana contributed 12 points, four assists and three boards. Jana Veselá (11) and Elena Tornikidou (10) also scored in double digits for the winners.

Magdalena Leciejewska's 14 points and seven rebounds were not enough for the home team.

"We lost by 26 points but I have to congratulate my girls. They didn't play bad basketball. Ros Casares is one of the best teams in Europe. They played really good and aggressive defense on the whole court. We were not able to find a position for shooting. After this loss we have to win our away games.".

"We were in trouble but only in the first quarter. Lotos were having great percentages, our defense was poor. From the second quarter we became more aggressive. Defense was the key to the victory. I am very happy because we wanted to take the first place in our group but we lost two games in the first round. Now, we play much better and we will try to win all games."
