Umana Reyer Venezia won for the second consecutive week by prevailing 70-59 triumph over MKB Euroleasing on Wednesday night.
Vanessa Hayden-Johnson led the way for the Italian team with 23 points and nine rebounds.
The Sopron club gave Umana Reyer fits for 34 minutes but then went ice cold the rest of the way.
Kathleen Jane MacLeod's basket which cut Umana Reyer's lead to 60-59 with 5:56 remaining proved to be the last points of the game for the Hungarian side.
Umana Reyer outscored them 10-0 the rest of the way.
Katalin Honti had 15 points to lead a balanced scoring attack for Norbert Székely's MKB Euroleasing.
The visitors shot the ball very well from the free throw line, making 19 of 23 (82.6%). Umana Reyer were nine of 13 (69.2%) at the charity stripe.
Inside the arc, Umana Reyer were 26 of 55 while the Hungarian team was 14 of 39. |
