Jan Bobrovsky, coach Gambrinus Sika Brno:
"We didn´t start lucky. We had a lot of information about our rival. The Italian team played with the same system as in the italian first division. Venezia played very good in defense, sometimes their defense was very hard. In the first quarter we didn´t trap the Italian shooters from long distance. In the first period Venezia recorded 66 procent in shooting. In the second period our team fought back. I believed in our victory at that moment, when difference was down to ten points. But we suffered in the one on one situations."
Manolo Real, coach Umana Reyer:
"It´s a historic sucssess, we played and won our first game in EuroLeague and we won away, at the home court of last season's EuroLeague runner-up team. We played a very good defense, I wasn´t worried about the result 90 seconds before the end, when the gap was reduced to only three points. We stuck with the same system and we were the luckier team." |
