Nadezhda Fall Again At Wisla In Group A

Wisla Can-Pack Krakow trailed by eight points early in the third quarter but hit back for a 91-70 victory over winless Nadezhda on Wednesday night in Poland.

Leading 39-36 at the break, the visitors from Russia extended the advantage to 46-38 shortly after the restart.

But Wojciech Downar-Zapolski's Polish outfit then reeled off nine straight points to close the gap to 46-45.

Nadezhda tried to counter, but saw their 49-45 advantage turn into a 56-49 deficit and they trailed the rest of the way.

A Jelena Skerovic three-pointer put Wisla on top for good at 52-49 with 4:13 left in the third.

The home side ended up outscoring Nadezhda 28-15 in the third quarter en route to their fourth triumph in six games.

Marta Fernandez and Slobodanka Maksimovic each poured in 23 points for Wisla Can-Pack.

Skerovic also had a solid all-round game, scoring 11 points, pulling down nine rebounds and handing out eight assists.

Latvia international center Zane Tamane was among the leading performers for Nadezhda with 11 points and nine rebounds but she couldn't prevent her team from slumping to a sixth consecutive defeat.
