Anna Vajda had 17 points and 13 rebounds as Hungary hammered Croatia 76-58 in their EuroBasket 2009 qualifying game on Wednesday.
In a battle of 1-2 teams in Group C, Hungary led 21-17 before outscoring their opponents 20-6 over the final eight minutes of the second quarter for a 41-23 half-time advantage.
Croatia faced a huge deficit the rest of the way.
Nóra Bujdosó sparked Hungary's big second quarter run with a jump shot and finished with 14 points.
Zsófia Fegyverneky chipped in with 11 and Orsolya Englert 10 for the Hungarians.
Andja Jelavic finished with 12 points, six rebounds and seven assists for Croatia, who played at the EuroBasket Women last year in Italy but have a mountain to climb if they are to make to the 2009 finals in Riga, Latvia.
