Montenegro stayed perfect after a big 81-63 win over Russia in the opening day of the Qualifying Round in Group F.
The winners climbed to a 3-0 record, as Russia will search for their first win in this round tomorrow.
A great finish to the first half allowed Montenegro to open a 16 point gap, which was enough to maintain in the second half.
A star performance of Vladimir Dasic in the first day with 18 points, ten rebounds and five steals made the difference.
Eventually he finished with 21 points, 12 boards and six steals followed by Milos Durisic with 15 and Nemanja Vranjes with 13.
Maxim Krivosheev carried Russia with 21 points as well and Alexey Shved added 13.
Montenegro, led by Dasic, escaped to a quick 21-13 lead on the way to a six point first quarter lead.
Russia found the way to move closer, but a three pointer by Nikola Pavlicevic forced a Russian time out.
Krivosheev and later Shved helped Russia back in, all the way down to 32-30, but then started the real show.
First it was Vranjes with nine close range points, and following was Dasic in big plays and quiet domination to make it a 16 points difference at half time, 49-33
Montenegro's lead crossed the 20 points line as Dasic got some rest for the future games, and Russia cut it down to 18 before the final buzzer.
The winning side will try to stay perfect against their former partners from Serbia, while Russia will face the local Latvian team.
