Russia is the last team from Group D to make it to the Qualifying Round after a key 77-69 win on day three over Slovenia.
The team from Ljubljana finished the group without a win, and will have to fight in the 13-16 classification games to avoid playing Division B next year. Russia improved to 1-2 but will carry no wins to the next round.
Russia enjoyed 20 points by Ilya Syrovatko while Maxim Krivosheev and Artem Yakovenko scored 13 each.
Boban Tomic led Slovenia with 17 points and Edin Alispahic added 15 points and 11 rebounds.
A close first quarter saw both teams take the first break tied at 16-16.
No team allowed a run in the following period as well, but when Slovenia's Zoran Dragic was called for his third foul late in the half, his team was a little more worried down 34-31 at half time.
Russia was the first to take on a safe lead, but couldn't get too far ahead, despite too many of Slovenia's players were getting in foul trouble following Dragic.
Shved returned to the court one minute before the end of the third to score five points in a row and make it 57-50 entering the deciding quarter.
Slovenia was back in the game just three points behind with the ball, but Mirko Mulalic missed a long range attempt a little over two minutes on the clock, and Russia took the most of it to pledge the W.
