Spain secured their spot in the Qualifying Round after a 97-84 over Bulgaria that sent the losing side to the 13-16 classification games.
The Spanish team earned their second win in a row after a close first half, and finished with a 2-1 record. They will carry one win to the next round.
Bulgaria dropped to 0-3 and will try to avoid demotion to Division B.
Joaquin Colom led Spain with 20 points, Victor Claver scored 19 points, Pere Tomas added 16 and Pablo Aguilar had 13 points and ten rebounds.
Ivan Lilov led the losing side with 31 points while Chevdar Kostov helped with 21 points, five rebounds and four assists and Nikolay Kolev double-doubled 13 points and 13 rebounds.
"We played good in the first half but lost our concentration in the third quarter and Spain used it to take off," concluded Lilov.
"Now we need to play better and win in the next games."
Claver locked Spain in a 23-21 lead after one quarter when he scored seven points.
Kostov and Lilov hit time after time from long range, and created shots for each other as their team climbed to a five point margin, but Spain answered quick and finished the half tied at 44-44.
The third quarter was when the game took on a new face. Spain made a 13-1 run during which Claver's dunk sent a message.
"What made the difference is that we put much more effort on defense, stole balls and didn't allow them easy baskets," said Marc Rubio after the game.
"It's very important for us that we won this game, because now we carry a win to the next round, and it can help us a lot."
Bulgaria, who needed to win in a big margin in order to escape the last place, never made it back from the double-digit difference, and will look for their first win where it matters most for them.
