Olympia Larissa's hopes of reaching the EuroCup Quarter-Final Round are still alive after a dramatic 64-63 home win over KK Zagreb.

Theophais Koumbouras, who scored a season-high 24 points, poured in the home side's last seven to clinch victory.

Zagreb, with the help of Ante Tomic (12 points and 15 rebounds), Mario Dundovic (18 pts) and Jakov Vladovic (17pts), managed to take a 60-55 advantage four minutes before the final buzzer and it looked like they could be on their way to a place in the next stage.

But the team from Larissa had other ideas.

After a jumper inside the arc from Marios Batis for Olympia, Tomic caught a pass from Vladovic and went up strong to restore the five-point lead.

Koumbouras then took over.

His three-ball closed the gap to 62-60 and after Tomic was called for a charge, Koumbouras was fouled and promptly made two free throws to bring his side level.

After both sides turned the ball over, Vladovic for Zagreb and AJ Guyton for Olympia, Vladovic missed from long range only for Koumbouras to turn the ball over.

Guyton then fouled Petar Babic, who made one of two at the charity stripe to put the visitors back on top by one with just 38 seconds remaining.

But with six seconds left, Koumbouras earned another trip to the free throw line after being fouled by Krunoslav Simon and he made both to cap his seven-point run .

Zagreb still had time to go back into the lead, but Vladovic missed with a three-pointer as time expired, leaving both sides with 3-2 records.

Zagreb are still in second place but they must play Olympia again next week, although this time the home support will be behind them.

Koumbouras was outstanding on the night, making all three of his shots from three-point range and drilling nine of 10 at the stripe.

Early on, Olympia had trailed but battled back to finish the first quarter with a 19-15 lead and they opened up an even bigger gap in the second quarter, moving ahead by 12 before going to the changing rooms with a 41-33 advantage.

With 10 minutes remaining, Olympia had a comfortable lead of 53-46 but then went cold and failed to score for over six minutes.

They were able to come back at the end for a very important victory.
