Tartu Rock thrashed BK Prostejov 94-69 in Estonia in the second elimination round first leg of the EuroCup.

Prostejov led 19-16 after the first period, thanks largely to Aleksandar Bojic, who finished with 21 points for the visitors.

However the home side fought back in the second quarter to lead 40-30 at half-time, thanks largely to a 14-point run in the second quarter which was sparked by Vallo Allingu's consecutive baskets.

And Tartu Rock used that surge as a launchpad for victory.

George Tsintsadze contributed 24 points for the home side, who are now clear favourites to progress ahead of next week's second leg.

After the game Prostejov coach Miroslav Marko was angry with his side for turning the ball over so much.

"The result of match was awful, but we will try to do better at home next week," he said.

"We started the match well but soon found ourselves in big trouble. I think that one of the main reasons for our loss was the 18 turnovers."

Ullar Kerde, head coach of Rock, said: "Our players were really ready to play tonight.

"One of the most important differences between the two teams was defence."

However, he warned his side about complacency ahead of next week's second leg.

"We will forget the 25-point lead and hope to win next week as well," he said.
