Olympias Patras overcame a five-point deficit from the first leg to beat Bulgarians Spartak-Pleven and claim a place in the EuroCup Elimination Round 2.
The Greek side won 85-71 on Tuesday with Julius Jefferson scoring a game-high 26 points, handing out five assists and grabbing five rebounds.
Patras were focused and intent on taking control from the off and that’s exactly what they did.
Once Kelvin Gibbs completed a three-point play with 4:40 remaining in the first quarter, the Greek team had the lead on aggregate and they pressed home that advantage the rest of the way.
Tautvydas Lydeka stretched the lead to 21-12 by splitting a pair of free throws.
Spartak-Pleven briefly closed the gap to 21-15, but it was an uphill battle for them and they got no closer the rest of the way.
Olympias Patras thoroughly dominated them on the boards, corralling 46 rebounds to just 24 for Spartak-Pleven.
Now Olympias Patras will take Ural Great Perm in the next phase of the competition.
