Beretta-Famila Blow Out Gospic
// 27 February 2008

Beretta-Famila destroyed Gospic in Italy on Wednesday to march into the EuroCup Women semi-finals.

Narrow 68-63 winners in the first leg of their quarter-final, the Schio team stormed into a big lead early on and prevailed 85-54.

Laura Macchi and Mudju Ngoyisa each had 16 points in the triumph, while Beathny Donaphin and Raffaella Masciadri scored 12 and 11, respectively.

Sandro Orlando, the coach of Beretta Famila, could hardly have asked for a better start with his players scoring 16 of the first 18 points in the game for a lead of 21 on aggregate.

If the fans thought Gospic still had a chance at that stage, the thinking would have changed by half-time when the Schio outfit had a 44-18 advantage.

Macchi had 10 points in the first half when the hosts blew the game wide open.

Deanne Butler also score all nine of her points before the half-time interval.
