Ros Boss The Show Yet Again
// 23 January 2008

Ros Casares lost their unbeaten record this season when falling in the Liga Femenina at the weekend but Manolo Real's team got back on track on Wednesday in the EuroLeague Women.

Delisha Milton-Jones scored 20 points, grabbed five rebounds and came up with three steals as Ros pulled away in the second half for an 89-60 victory over MiZo Pecs of Hungary.

The victory improved the Spanish team, last year's beaten finalists in the competition, to 10-0 in Group A.

MiZo Pecs dropped to 6-4, the same record as Dynamo Moscow who finished second as they swept the Hungarians in their two meetings.

Ros led just 31-27 at half-time, by which time Milton had scored eight of her points.

When play resumed, though, Real's team took charge.

They began the second half with a 7-2 run and were in command the rest of the way.

With six seconds to play in the third quarter, an Elena Baranova jump shot had stretched the Valencia team's advantage to 54-38.

The closest MiZo would get in the fourth quarter was 13.

Russia international Baranova had 15 points and Katie Douglas 14, while Ros' captain and Spain point guard Elisa Aguilar scored nine and dished out four assists.

By finishing third, MiZo will not have home court advantage in the eighth-finals, an honour that instead now goes to Dynamo Moscow.

// 23 January 2008

Manolo Real, coach Ciudad Ros Casares:

"The team has started making something very difficult, to work as a team. In the last games the team ‘thing' had cost us a lot but before the MiZo Pécs the spirit has been excellent".

László Rátgéber, coach MiZo Pécs 2010:

"We are not at the same level like Ros. We tried but their defense destroyed us. I am satisfied with the work of my younger players."
