MiZo Score Crucial Win
// 20 December 2007

Hungarian side MiZo Pecs 2010 got their EuroLeague Women campaign back on track following a hard-fought 77-57 win over TEO Vilnius.

Having lost to Spartak Moscow Region last week, MiZo produced a fine performance with Zsofia Fegyverneky scoring 14 points and Emilija Podrug pouring in 13 and grabbing eight rebounds.

The win lifted MiZo into third in Group D with a 4-3 record and boosted their chances of reaching the eighth-finals.

Power forward Jurgita Streimikyte scored 23 points for Vilnius but it wasn't enough to stop them slipping to fifth in the pool with a 2-5 record. MiZo got off to a good start and led 14-8 midway through the first quarter, but an eight-point run put Vilnius 16-14 in front and they finished the quarter 19-18 ahead.

Vilnius led 27-25 midway through the second quarter, but MiZo showed their class and Podrug scored seven points in a mammoth 17-point run that put them 42-25 in front. Having gone in at half-time 42-29 ahead, the Hungarians never looked like giving up their lead and they led 60-44 going into the final quarter.

Despite early pressure from Vilnius in the fourth, a seven-point run kept MiZo in control at 75-49 and they eventually finished with a 20-point cushion.
