Spartak Moscow Region beat Dexia W Namur like a drum on Wednesday to send out a loud message about their EuroLeague Women title defense.
Lauren Jackson had 34 points and six rebounds and Irina Osipova poured in 15 as Natalia Hejkova's Spartak cruised to a 102-62 victory in Vidnoje.
The game was, for all intents and purposes, over by the end of the first quarter. Spartak had already opened up a 28-6 lead at that point.
By half-time, Spartak were still in complete command with a 48-24 advantage.
Spartak dominated, and not just with their powerful inside play.
They made 13 of 22 (59.1%) of their shots from three-point range, while inside the arc Hejkova's team was 26 of 51 (51%) and at the line they converted 11 of 13 (84.6%).
For her part, Jackson had a Jackson-like performance. Showing her versatility, the Australia national team star connected on six of eight shots (75%) from long range and was 13 of 17 (76%) from the floor overall.
