Halcon Avenida boosted their hopes of qualifying for the last 16 of the EuroLeague Women with a 82-72 win over Jolly JBS Sibenik in Group B.

The Spanish side remain fourth in the group with a 3-4 record while Jolly's EuroLeague dreams grow ever fainter as they are now 2-5.

Anna Montanana top-scored for the hosts with 22 points while Jessica Dickson poured in 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Croatian side.

Both teams went into the tie eager to snap a two-game losing streak which had left them prop up the group with Bourges Basket and ZVVZ USK Prague.

Neither side really managed to take control of the game and though the Croatians had a 25-17 advantage at the end of the first quarter, the Halcon players reacted well to end the second period with a slim 42-40 edge.

And the Spanish poured in seven points without reply to increase their advantage early in the second half.

Jolly pulled to within a point of their opponents but Ivanka Matic sunk three two-pointers and a free throw to help her side into a 62-56 lead going into the final 10 minutes.

Halcon never looked back as they poured in 20 points in the last period to storm to victory.

"We played a great first half but in the second half, because my players had a lot of personal fouls, we had to somehow be more careful and that influenced our defense."

"At the end, lady luck smiled to us; we got those 10 points of difference although it seemed impossible five minutes before the end. I'm glad for the victory and for the basketball played."

"It was a very tough game. They had some clever ideas and they were very good against all teams in the EuroLeague so far. Sibenik have had some great three-point percentages up to now but in the end we were the ones that got the win and for 10 points difference."
