Lubor Blazek, coach ZVVZ Prague:
We lost the game on free-throws ZVVZ Prague coach Lubor Blazek put his side`s 88-82 loss to Halcon Avenida in EuroLeague Women Group B down to their opponents` power from the charity stripe. The visitors scored 22 points from 33 free shots while Prague made 10 of 13.
"I do not want to say a bad word about our opponents," said Blazek.
"But they shot too many free throws - that was not a reflection of the action we saw on the court.
"On the other hand, we saw a good women's basketball game. Avenida played a good game - mostly in the offence. They were better than
us in rebounding, despite how we`d prepared our players for that. That was the biggest difference between them and us."
The visitors now move to second in the group with the same 2-2 record as Wisla Can-Pack Krakow and Jolly JBS Sibenik while the Czech outfit are 1-3.
Hernandez Fraile, coach Halcon Avenida:
Avenida coach Jose I. Hernandez Fraile agreed with his opposite number that his side`s victory was down to their strength in attack.
"We are very happy because we beat a very strong opponent," said Fraile.
"We did not play very good in defence but we were better than the home team in the offence so we won today."
The hosts at one point had a six-point cushion and ended the second quarter 42-37 ahead.
But the Spanish side stormed into the lead early in the third period and
never looked back.
Michaela Hartigova, player ZVVZ Prague:
"Everything was decided in the third quarter. We scored enough points so that was not our problem today."
"But we shot badly in the third quarter - we scored 11 points only - and Avenida took control of the game during that time."
