TTT Riga bounced back from their 82-56 drubbing at the hands of CSKA Moscow in the best way possible, recording their first EuroLeague Women Group A triumph thanks to a 83-65
thrashing of ESB Lille Metropole on Tuesday.

		Ljubica Drljaca had 17 points in the loss.

Center Olena Zherzherunova led the charge for the Latvians, racking up 21 points and four rebounds, while Ieva Tare and Micaela Martins Jacintho pitched in with 16 and 15 points respectively.

Though Metropole out-rebounded the hosts, their poor form in front of the basket cost them as they only sunk 18 of their 40 two-pointers.

After an even first quarter finished 16-14 to Metropole the visitors pulled ahead 21-16 before Riga sunk 13 points without reply to power into a 29-21 lead midway through the second quarter with Zherzherunova pouring in nine of the points.

And the hosts did not look back from there, closing the third quarter 61-42 in front.

The French team made a valiant attempt at a comeback in the fourth but it was a case of too little, too late.

And despite the best efforts of Ljubica Drljaca, who claimed 17 points and seven rebounds, they fell to their first defeat of the tournament.

"I am satisfied with the team performance and the result today. There was some kind of indecisiveness [in our actions] in the beginning, but with each quarter our confidence grew as well as our performance. We can play even better. Tomorrow we will start to prepare for the next game with Fenerbahce."

"We had a good shooting percentage today – it was a decisive factor in our win. We trained in this arena for one day only and everything went well tonight. Our opponent was disoriented as all our players contributed to victory."

"First of all congratulations to the winning side. TTT was more aggressive and scored more three-pointers. Today they were more aggressive than us, although both of us are teams of the same level."

"We played too bad and lost too many balls. They shot well and played really well. They wanted to win this more than we did. We missed a lot of things tonight and that`s why we lost. This is our first year in the Euroleague and we look forward to improve."
