A pair of free throws from Biljana Pavicevic (pictured) with 17 seconds remaining lifted KV Imperial AEL to a 63-62 home win over Dunav Ekont Rousse on the opening night of elimination round action in the EuroCup Women.
Playing at home in Cyprus, Imperial trailed 62-59 after Diana Hristova Naydenova-Goryanova's three-ball with 1:23 remaining in the contest.
But Andrea Gardner cut the deficit to just one after a pair of free throws and following a Naydenova-Goryanova turnover, Viktoria Mircheva was called for a foul on Pavicevic and she connected on both shots from the strip.
Bulgarian outfit Dunav Ekont Rousee still had time to go back in front but Roksana Yordanova's attempt from the arc was off target.
Betty Bernice Lennox led all scorers with 28 points in a winning cause.
She also had 10 rebounds, including seven on the offensive glass.
ZKK Buducnost routed Flamurtari Vlora of Albania, 102-64.
Ana Perovic poured in 30 points for Buducnost, who stretched a 16-15 lead at the end of the first quarter to 41-29 by half-time and never looked back.

The home side led 56-48 with nine minutes remaining after a jump shot from Esmary Vargas Sanchez.
Neuchâtel went on a 13-0 run over the next four minutes to take command and lead the rest of the way.
Cameo Nicole Hicks had a game-high 27 points for Neuchâtel, whose cause was helped by very poor free throw shooting from their opponents.
The Foxes were just 15 of 29 (51.7%) from the stripe.

Rhondda Rebels exploded in the second half to post a 78-65 victory over fellow Portuguese side Boaviagem Angra Acores.
The home side held a slender 42-41 lead at the break, but the Rebels took a four-point advantage into the final quarter and then pressed home the advantage.
Kirby Copeland scored 22 points and fellow starter Martina Gandzalova added 20 on five of six shooting at the stripe for the Rebels, while Kristin Wiener (19) and Joj Scott (17) paced the home side.
Sally Sofia Kaznica, who this summer helped Great Britain’s women win promotion to EuroBasket Division A, also had an outstanding game for the Rebels.
