Albena Branzova scored 19 points as MKB Euroleasing came from behind to start their Eighth-Final play-offs with an impressive 86-76 victory over UMMC.

Ivana Matovic weighed in with 14 points for the winners, while Suzy Batkovic, who was made eight of 14 from two point range, also scored 19 for UMMC during a thrilling opening clash.

Both sides started strongly and finished the first period tied on 18-18, before UMMC took control in the second quarter.

The lively Lindsay Whalen, who finished with 13 points, and Batkovic helped the visitors to a 41-37 lead at the halfway stage.

But MKB responded quickly and inspired by Branzova, they won the third period 26-18 to move into the driving seat for the first time in the match.

MKB then went on to secure a comfortable victory as they won the final quarter 23-17 and left UMMC with a mountain to climb in the second meeting between the sides. 

Katalin Honti scored 13 and Olexandra Gorbunova also weighed in with 11 for MKB.

Matovic, who was instrumental in the comeback, grabbed 11 rebounds, while Honti recorded eight.

Cheryl Ford, who also scored 12 points, was impressive on the boards for UMMC, grabbing 13 rebounds, while Whalen and Batkovic hauled in six apiece.
