// 09 November 2006

UMMC Ekaterinburg have maintained their unbeaten start in Group C of EuroLeague Women with a 79-69 at the home of winless Polish giants Lotos Gdynia.

UMMC were shock winners over Gambrinus Brno in the opening round of games last week, and the Russians impressed again as Audrey Sauret Gillespie led five players scoring in double figures.

Zakalyuzhnaya and Barnes also grabbed eight rebounds each.

UMMC led from the early stages, ending the first quarter 26-17 ahead and taking a 45-30 advantage into the locker room.

The hosts closed after the break, starting the third period on an 11-4 run, but UMMC came back to keep them at arm's length down the stretch.

Tamika Whitmore led Lotos with 19 points, while Ewelina Kobryn and LaTanya White had 12 each.
