White Snatches Win For Lotos Gdynia
// 21 December 2006

LaTanya White nailed a last-second three-pointer to earn Lotos Gdynia their first win in EuroLeague Women Group C and breathe new life into their hopes of qualifying for the Eighth-Final Play-offs.

Sandrine Gruda's lay-up with six seconds remaining looked to have earned USVO Valenciennes the victory, which would have dumped Lotos out of the competition.

But White had the final say, draining a shot from downtown on the buzzer to earn a 70-68 success and keep the Polish team's dreams of a top-five finish alive.

They join USVO on a 1-7 record and with two games remaining in the pool, it is all to play for.

American power forward Tamika Whitmore starred for Lotos with 21 points and eight rebounds, while center Ewelina Kobryn weighed in with 15 points.

With 2:40 left in the final quarter, the hosts held a 67-60 lead, but USVO powered back and almost claimed the two points.

Gruda was the French team's leading scorer with 18 points, while Australian point guard Kristi Harrower (eight points, five rebounds and 11 assists) had a good all-round game for the side who made it to the competition's Final Four last year.
