MiZo looked comfortable at 60-45 up with 3:06 remaining, but took their foot off the gas and allowed their French visitors back into the match before holding on victory.
The hosts came out of the blocks quickly, three-pointers from Dalma Ivanyi and Anna Vajda putting them 6-0 up within a minute.
But the French side hit back to make it 8-8, with the rest of the first quarter proving to be an evenly-matched affair which ended 15-14 in the Hungarians' favour.
The second quarter was again an even contest, with Celine Dumerc's lay-up putting the away side ahead - 25-24 - 43 seconds before half-time.
Sonja Kireta's lay-up stretched Bourges' advantage to 31-28, but that spurred the home team into action as they overpowered their rivals to earn a 46-41 lead by the end of the third quarter.
MiZo continued to dominate at the start of the final quarter, extending their cushion to a comfortable margin before the late attempted fightback.
Nora Bujdoso paced the winners with 17 points, while Zsofia Fegyverneky contributed 15.
Dumerc led the way for Bourges with 15 points.
