First Win For Dexia Namur
// 07 December 2006

Dexia Namur recorded their first win in six Euroleague games to move off the bottom of Group B with a topsy-turvy 66-58 victory over MiZo Pecs.

Dexia edged the first quarter 19-14, then went 35-18 up by the halfway stage and looked in total control.

But the visitors, who are now 3-3 for the tournament, turned up the pressure in the third quarter by winning it 21-8 to narrow the gap to just four at 43-39.

Dalma Ivanyi, who had a game-high three steals, put Pecs 44-43 up early in the last quarter with a two-point jump shot, but they could not maintain their momentum as the hosts rediscovered their earlier verve.

The key player for Dexia was Katryna Gaither with 14 points and the same number of rebounds and she was abetted by Cathrine Kraayeveld's 11 rebounds and three assists. Elzbieta Miedzik was 100% from the free throw line (4 of 4).

For Pecs, Vickie Johnson hit 16 points, with Zsofia Fegyverneky (13) the only other visiting player in double figures, who will be disappointed with the defeat to the strugglers.
