Dudley Finishes Off Panionios
// 16 January 2007

Turk Telekom landed an important blow in their EuroCup campaign with a 71-68 triumph at Panionios in a Group K thriller played in Athens.

One of the real success stories of the competition and also flying high in the Turkish top flight, the visitors' `Mr Everything' Erwin Dudley broke a 68-68 tie with a lay-up 1:44 from the end and then, after being fouled by Dragan Dojcin, split one of two free throws with 13 seconds to go for a 71-68 advantage.

Dojcin had a chance to save the hosts but missed from three-point range with five seconds to go.

He chased down the rebound and launched one more attempt just before the buzzer but again missed.

The star of the show for Turk Telekom was for once not Dudley, in fact, but Jan-Hendrik Jagla who poured in 28 points.

The defeat spoiled a good night for Panagiotis Kafkis, who was nine of 15 (60%) from the floor and scored 21 points.

Turk Telekom improved to 2-0 while Panionios slipped to 1-1.
