Türk Telekom Get Past CSKA Sofia

Turk Telecom rebounded from their loss to Panionios to beat PBC CSKA Sofia 93-86 on Tuesday and get their EuroCup campaign back on track.

The Ankara-based club were no match for the Greeks last week but they showed great resilience to level their record in Group G at 1-1 with a strong showing in the Turkish capital.

The early stages were cagey before a Haluk Yildirim free throw broke open a 14-14 tie in favour of the hosts.

Yildirim's effort prompted a 5-3 run which saw Turk end the first quarter with a 19-17 advantage.

CSKA got within a point in the second quarter but another 14-7 run staved off any threat from the Bulgarians.

The home side extended their advantage to 13 points at half-time (49-36) and cruised the rest of the way.

Their lead was 69-62 at the end of the third quarter, and despite the best efforts of Bradley Robert Traina, who poured in 18 points, and Gregory Danielson, who pulled down six rebounds.

The visitors could not pull it back.

American center Erwin Dudley had 24 points and 10 rebounds in an outstanding all-round display for Turk.

Jan-Hendrik Jagla was also impressive for the victors with 12 points and nine rebounds.

CSKA are now 0-2 following an opening defeat to Ural Great.
