BCM Gravelines began their EuroCup campaign with a comfortable 91-74 victory over Maccabi Rishon Le Zion on Tuesday night.
Brian Tolbert's 22 points were not enough to prevent the Israeli outfit slipping to defeat in their Group D opener at Sportica.
Dainius Adomaitis - who had a 100% record from two-point range - top scored for the winners with 19 points, while Stephen Brun and Paccelis Morlende both contributed 13 apiece.
French outfit Gravelines started brightest and they raced into a 22-14 lead at the end of the first quarter, before they increased their lead to 41-28 at the halfway stage.
Maccabi failed to mount a serious challenge to the home side's dominance and Gravelines led 71-56 at the end of the third quarter, before another comfortable fourth period secured their victory.
Rickey Paulding Jr, Rahshon Turner and Jerome Schmitt all backed up Gravelines' main point scorers by weighing in with 11 points each, while Steeve Essart - who was 100% from three-point range - contributed nine points.
David Gautier and Turner were the home side's top rebounders with six each, while Haim Shimonovich - who scored nine points - was Maccabi's best rebounder with eight.
