Lokomotiv Rostov enjoyed a flying start in their EuroCup clash with Azovmash and never looked back as they recorded a 70-63 triumph in Group C.

Lokomotiv led from start to finish after quickly establishing a 6-0 lead, with that advantage ballooning to 13-1 at the midway point of the opening period following a three-pointer from Maurice Bailey.

The difference was 13 points by the end of the quarter, while Lokomotiv further extended that to 17 points at 30-13 at the start of the second period.

That game was as good as over then, as the Russian side remained in charge for the rest of the match.

The closest Azovmash managed to get was in the final quarter when they trimmed Lokomotiv's advantage to four points at 58-54 when American guard Khalid El-Amin drained a three-point effort.

But the Ukrainian side were unable to make any more in-roads as Lokomotiv eased their way to their second win in Group C, following up their 69-65 triumph over Atomeromu.

Lokomotiv shared the scoring around with Sergey Toporov, Kresimir Loncar and Omar Shariff Sneed each contributing 13 points, while Evangelos Sklavos added 10 points and nine rebounds for the winners.

Azovmash, who beat Banvit 69-60 in their opening match, had just three players score in double-figures, Slaven Rimac leading the way with 12 points.
