Azovmash Progress By Drubbing Winless Atomeromu
// 12 December 2006

Atomeromu SE's dismal EuroCup season continued with a heavy defeat, this time at the hands of Azovmash who improved to 4/2.

It was the sixth defeat in six outings for the Hungarians who were already trailing 46-26 at the halfway point and from then on concentrated on damage limitation.

Azovmash quickly established a 7-0 lead and by the end of the first period had a 22-15 advantage.

They extended that supremacy with a dominant second period including a 21-2 run at the start of the period.

Impressive in defeat for Atomeromu was Marcellus Somerville with 16 points on the back of eight from 14 shooting with all his successful shots coming inside the paint. He also managed five rebounds.

Mark T. Walters had five rebounds in addition to his 15 points while Zalan Krisztian Meszaros also managed 15 points for the losers.

In contrast, five players managed double digits for the victors with Robert Gulyas leading the way with 16. He was four from inside the arc, two from two downtown and two from three from the free throw line.

Kenan Bajramovic poured in 15 - he also hauled down a game high seven boards - while Serhiy Lishchuk (12), Slaven Rimac (11) and Germaine Jackson (10) also made worthwhile contributions.
