GAME REPORT

Ireland Get Past Cyprus

Ireland trailed by six at half-time but then put forth a devastating third-quarter effort and used that as a platform for 76-70 victory against Cyprus.

In a battle of winless teams, Cyprus led by as many as 10 points in the first half but after holding a 44-38 advantage at half-time, they caved in.

The Irish outscored them 25-10 in the third period.

Back-to-back three-pointers from Baker Dunleavy, the son of Los Angeles Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy, and Jay Larranaga gave Ireland a 54-50 lead midway through the third quarter and they never trailed again.

By the end of the third, they had moved ahead 63-54 and Cyprus did not recover.

Pat Burke had 20 points and 12 rebounds for Ireland, while Giorgos Anastasiadis scored 18 and pulled down six boards in a losing effort.
