Ukraine claimed their first win in the EuroBasket qualifying round Group A with a 66-61 victory over Sweden.
After having lost their opening game against Bulgaria 80-77, Ukraine rebounded and got a badly needed victory against the Swedes.
The eastern Europeans led 37-33 at the interval but the Swedes made up ground by the end of the third quarter to trail by two points, 47-45.
The teams exchanged leads throughout the fourth quarter.
Trailing by one midway through the fourth, the Ukraine scored five straight points on a free-throw and jumper from Volodymyr Gurtovyy followed by a field goald from Artur Drozdov.
This put the Ukraine in front 62-58 with three minutes to go and the Ukraine would hold the lead that until the final buzzer.
Drozdov top scored for the winners as he poured in 16 points while center Serhiy Lishchuk notched 13.
Lishchuk also pulled down 12 rebounds as he produced a dominant all round performance.
Fredrik Jonzen drained 16 points for the Swedes but he was unable to halt his side's second defeat, even though they pushed their opposition right to the end.
