GAME REPORTZuzana Zirkova showed no signs of rust as she led Slovakia to a 73-72 win over Latvia on Wednesday.
An ankle injury had kept her out of action during her side's preparations until the final warm-up game against Finland just one week ago.
The 175cm guard scored 30 points against Finland and continued her hot streak against Latvia.
She scored 25 points in the contest to go along with 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
Alena Kovacova, a team-mate of Zirkova at Gambrinus Brno, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished 6 assists while Ivana Jalcová weighed in with 19 points.
Liene Jansone top scored with 20 points for Latvia, who will play Belarus on Saturday.
Slovakia play their next game next week against Belgium. |
