Russia Ease Past Israel

Russia appear to be on course for a place in the semi-finals of the Termosteps U16 European Championship after clinching their second win in the quarter-final round with a 102-80 victory over Israel.

Andrey Semenov was the star for the Russians with 19 points, 15 rebounds and six assists.

Russia took control of the game in the second quarter with a decisive 22- 2 run over the first six minutes of the second quarter that put them ahead 42-23 at the half.

Following the spurt, Russia were never troubled, leading 78-51 going into the final quarter.

Aleksandr Karpukhin also had 19 points for Russia while Teymuraz Babunashvili claimed 10 as 11 Russian players were amongst the scoring.

Russia's 102 points is their highest offensive output in the competition and the second highest total among all teams.

Russia has now won four games in a row - three of which have been victories by double-digits.
