Kosice No Match For Leaders USVO
// 11 January 2006

There was no danger of a shock in Group C's top versus bottom clash as US Valenciennes Olympic cruised to victory against K Cero I.C.P. Kosice.

The 2002 and 2004 winners reinforced their chances of regaining the EuroLeague Women title with a comfortable 86-52 triumph.

France international Sandra Le Drean and compatriot Sandrine Gruda are USVO's top scorers in this year's competition, and they improved their averages with forward Le Drean scoring a game-high 18 points and center Gruda claiming 15.

The French giants also had another three players score double figures, namely Slobodanka Tuvic (16), Vedrana Grgin Fonseca (13) and Emmanuelle Hermouet (10).

USVO were seven points ahead inside four minutes and stretched that lead to 10 by the end of the first quarter.

The visitors battled gamely in the second, scoring just three points less, but they could not sustain that resistance and were blown away in the final two quarters.

Serbo-Montenegrin center Tuvic clinched a double-double with 10 rebounds.

Tiffani Johnson had eight with 10 points for the visitors, for whom Luisa Michulkova top scored with 12 points.

The Slovakians remain winless while USVO improve to 8-1.
