K Cero ICP Kosice must be wondering if their luck is ever going to change in the EuroLeague Women after suffering a 72-58 defeat at Phard Napoli - their fifth successive defeat in the competition.
The Slovakian outfit had a nightmare start, trailing by as many as nine points in the first quarter but they battled back to lead 26-25 early in the second period on a Tiffani Johnson lay-up.
When a pair of Johnson free throws gave Kosice their biggest advantage at 42-34 20 seconds into the second half, the visitors must have thought they would finally snatch that elusive victory but it was not to be.
Phard, with the support of their home fans, came storming back to win.
Francesca Zara's jump shot started a 12-0 run which gave the Italians a 46-42 lead with 5:51 left in the third quarter.
Though Kosice kept it close for the rest of the quarter, the game eventually slipped away from them.
By the time Vanessa Bullet made a jumper with just under five minutes to go in the contest, Phard held a 65-50 advantage. There was no way back for Kosice.
Marlous Nieuwveen topped the scorers for Phard with 18 points, while Bullett had 16 to go with her seven rebounds.
K Cero ICP's Kelly Anne Mazzante led all scorers in the game with 21, while Johnson chipped in 14.
Kosice must take on the in-form Lietuvos Telekomas at home next week.
Phard have climbed into fourth place in Group C with their second victory in five games.
The Italians host Wisla Can-Pack Krakow next week, the other team they have defeated so far.
